In this unpredicatbly dreary weather getting your kids out exercising can be difficult. Especially if your children have been unable to run about during the school day, you may want your child to constructively burn their energy after the school day is over.
Indoor sports can be a great way to get your kids in an organised sport in any weather.
At the Action Arenas on Preston Road in Wynnum West, there are Junior Soccer activities every Tuesday during the school term. Ages 4 - 9 play at 4pm, while ages 10-14 play at 4.40pm.
It's run on a casual basis, so that whoever turns up gets a game. Occasionally there is some coaching and instruction provided by the young referees, and a little bit more coaching on occasion could be good from a parents perspective.
The courts appear to be well maintained. The management on site are very easy going and communicate pretty well with parents. For $7 a week your child gets to have a fun game with a bunch of other kids and a fairly easy going environment, and may even get a trophy at the end.
It can be a great way to introduce your child to a team sport without the competitive pressure of a fixture sport.
